Good start
There are great bones for a game here, but it needs to be tweaked.
If the developers can reduce the starting difficulty curve they will have a great game. The inclusion of expendable to refill shields or the ability to incrementally improve your current ship until you can get to the next ship level would help to reduce frustration greatly. I have been close to being able to afford the next ship only to run into a fight I cant win (or run from) and lose a chick of credits, my cargo, and my mission.
With the game in its current state I cant recommend it.
